I was so amazed to see a half dozen pipevine swallowtail butterflies with wings in motion hovering over the thistle growing wild in the overgrown pollinator garden at the summit of Fort Mountain in North Georgia. Although I've seen one or two of these butterflies in my own pollinator garden and I have seen one or two at the butterfly house at Smith Gilbert Gardens... I've never seen this many at one time. The butterfly wings were in almost constant motion... fluttering. I wanted to share this side view shot so you can see the other colors on this amazing butterfly.
Those markings and colours are gorgeous! A beautiful shot too with the purple thistle and the green background to show off this really stunning butterfly! Fav
