Fort Mountain Pollinator Garden by kvphoto

Fort Mountain Pollinator Garden

I was so amazed to see a half dozen pipevine swallowtail butterflies with wings in motion hovering over the thistle growing wild in the overgrown pollinator garden at the summit of Fort Mountain in North Georgia. Although I've seen one or two of these butterflies in my own pollinator garden and I have seen one or two at the butterfly house at Smith Gilbert Gardens... I've never seen this many at one time. The butterfly wings were in almost constant motion... fluttering. I wanted to share this side view shot so you can see the other colors on this amazing butterfly.
Gorgeous! This is the one I see least frequently among the dark swallowtails that do visit my area.
