THANK YOU all for you comments on my diabetes related shot from yesterday. I appreciate your kind words. It's crazy how many people are touched by the disease!
Today's shot is a bit of a disappointment. I knew the weather was going to be gross today so I bought some gerbera daisies last night. I opted for the plain cream ones rather than a vibrant colour. When I woke up this morning all but one had completely drooped! What a waste of money!! I just wasn't feeling the shoot as I couldn't get enough light and the cream colour just felt blah!! This is one of only a handful that I kept. I used a syringe (I keep a few on hand in case my insulin pump were to fail) to apply the water drops. If you have time please enlarge and view against black.
Why disappointed? I think this is just stunning and I love the reflection on the water droplet and how it looks like it is made of glass and holding just a tiny bit of water inside it and the light made it bright!! Love the edges of the flower and the softness of the shot!! Superb if you ask me! FAV!
@cashew I'm pleased with the drop but the colour is so blah - I kick myself for not getting brighter coloured one!! I was most disappointed because they all drooped. I wanted to get a shot of them all together and perky!
I wouldn't be disappointed either! (Although I might take the flowers that drooped back to the store to complain!) Like others have said, the dof is lovely and the droplets are beautiful. Great shot!
You certainly turned this into something special with that dof and fantastic water drop - surprising how things can turn out. Love the soft dream feel to this.
superb focus Kim
