It's baseball season and today was my son's first "prospects" team game. Prospects is more competitive than "house" ball and has the boys playing double headers every Sunday against out of town teams. Here's my soon to be 13 year old pitching. I left the house at 10:45am and didn't get home until 5:30pm. Then did a quick edit of 450 pictures (got it down to 120 pics) and sent the good ones out to the team. It's now 9:00pm and my eyes need a break. I'm off to watch Outlander and will catch up with you all tomorrow! Hope you had a great weekend.
Wonderful action shot!! Love the expression on his face!! I am going to my first baseball game on 6th May with Taffy and her husband Jim - Washington Nationals at Chicago Cubs. A whole new experience for me - so excited!! Fav for your great image!!
Cool capture Kim. How did you edit them so quickly?? Do you use Lightroom? Sounds like a busy summer for you guys then. Is your daughter still swimming?
@kiwichick I'm brutal when I edit baseball shots. I only keep the best and they must be focused! I went from 500 to 250 shots in about five minutes. I do my first purge as I look at each one. If it's blurry or doesn't grab me it's gone! Then I do a second look and eliminate ones that are similar. Then on my third I start to straighten, crop, etc. I don't do much fancy editing as the parents are happy with any and all. When it's my kid or one that I really like I'll spend more time on it processing. I use Aperture to edit. Kennedy doesn't swim competitively anymore and Gage doesn't do it at all. Ball should take us to the beginning of August (assuming he makes the July rep team).
Those parents and kids will really appreciate those pictures. I did that back in my track team (and football games) days when it was still film - and I've been retired 13 years and had stopped that at least 5 years earlier. Still have kids and parents stop me to tell me they still have the pictures and how much they enjoy them. Guess I was taking kids pictures since the mid 70's. You're really good at catching the action - this is terrific in b&w.
