Every year there's a massive herring run in the waters off Vancouver Island. I'm not sure how it all works but our normally dark blue waters turn turquoise, hundreds of fishing boats come out and even more sea lions. It's quite the sight! My husband and I went for a drive yesterday to check out the action. I managed to capture a hungry sea lion leaping.
Loved the article - thanks for posting the link. Great photo of the sea lion jumping. So the herring are eaten by people and the wildlife - good thing there are lots of them!
This is delightful with the leaping sea lion. It would have been a great capture even without it - I like the boat with its colourful adornments and the accompanying gulls.
