I got to ride in a helicopter yesterday - not a ride I really wanted to take! My son's colitis is acting up so we were flown from our home town hospital to Vancouver's Children's hospital. He's got a bowel "kink" and will be having surgery some time tonight. He's holding up well and I'm confident the doctors will fix him up so we can get back home soon. He's become very private about his condition (he's 15 now) so very few people know what's happening. But very few 365 friends know us in "real life" so I think it's okay that I'm sharing. If you're my FB friend please don't make any reference to our situation as we have only told a handful of people from home and I want to respect my son's privacy.
On the positive side we had a beautiful 35 minute flight that went very close to our house. See that far tip of land on left side? Our house is basically there. We also saw two sets of whales from the air as well but I couldn't get a decent photo with my phone.
what a rare opportunity to get this perspective! Making the most of a no doubt stressful situation. He is no doubt finding it difficult to be a teenager and deal with this condition but I am sure he will manage better as time goes on, resilience builds with a chronic condition - you need it to get by. He is developing great life skills. take care x
I’m amazed you thought to take this under the circumstances. A fabulous shot & hope your son makes a good recovery, he really has been through the mill bless him!
Such a beautiful bird-eye view of your home So sorry to hear of Case's latest turn - I hope the op will soon be over and for a quick recovery and thinking of you all at this worrying time !
It looks stunning, and an amazing opportunity to see your place on such a clear day. Hope your son makes a quick recovery and you're all safely back to this beautiful spot soon.
A great view of the area you live in. Sorry to hear your son's 'plumbing' is playing up again. Hope the surgery fixes things and everything returns to normal again soon.
Hope all went well for Gage - he (and you) stay in my daily prayers. Stay upbeat - all of you. Love this shot and getting to see where you live from this neat angle - wouldn't be tickled with the helicopter ride, but you sure made the best of it.
So sorry to hear that your son is in pain again and needs surgery! Hope he feels much better soon! That is a beautiful coastline and looks like a fabulous place to live! Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Take good care.
Such a wonderful scene ans stretch of coastline, I could easily live there too. A pity you took this shot under those circumstances. I so wish and pray that all goes well and your son will be able to lead a normal life soon. Sending blessings and positive energy :-)
I'm smiling at your dedication to your craft - even under stress, the photographer in you sees an opportunity and takes it! Hopefully, the surgery will put an end to your son's suffering. Keeping you both in my thoughts
It's great to see your home coastline Kim, a very beautiful place to live!
