A diary shot... my son had a twisted bowel and needed surgery last night. The hospital was busy with various emergencies and they didn't take him until 11pm. That's my husband in the yellow! He stayed with him in the OR until he was asleep. The procedure took 2 hours. By the time he was awake and out of the recovery room we didn't go to sleep until 2:30am. I let my husband have the couch and I made a bed on the floor from blankets and pillows. Needless to say we did not sleep well. Gage is doing well today - he's been on a few short walks and is drinking fluids. Thank you all for your comments and well wishes!
He's become very private about his condition (he's 15 now) so very few people know what's happening. But very few 365 friends know us in "real life" so I think it's okay that I'm sharing. If you're my FB friend please don't make any reference to our situation as we have only told a handful of people from home and I want to respect my son's privacy.
I'm so glad you weren't traveling and poor Gage doesn't seem to be able to catch a break . What a strong son you have. Hope the recovery is fast and this ends your very trying year. Has school started in Canada yet?
Good news he is up and walking! Wishing him well! Love your photo - so heartwarming to know his dad was with him. So many positive healing vibes coming his way - it’s so hard for a teenager to cope with this.
Love the hand gesture,, he still had his spirit! So good that dad was able to stay with him right up to the last minute. Do hope all is well today & you are all recovering! Twisted bowel is not something you would want, we used to get cows occasionally with that & the vet had to come out pronto but they soon recovered. Gage is a real trouper to cope with all he has done so I hope its onwards & upwards from now on? Good wishes to you all. X
I'm so sorry that happened to him. It's not like he doesn't have enough problems. I pray he will continue to mend without problems and be out of the hospital ASAP. I hope that you and your husband can get some rest and take care of yourselves as well.
SOOOOOOOO good that he had this surgery, and it went well. It's incredibly dangerous when it's not discovered and treated in time, so really glad to hear that it went well. Take care of YOU, too.,
I hope everything when well!
