My daughter (she took the photo) and I went snowshoeing again today in the sunshine. Today's route was almost twice as long as last week's and involved a few steep hills. We hiked to Lake Helen MacKenzie in Strathcona Park. That big open space behind me is the frozen lake! I'm standing on the remains of my friend's giant snowman she and some friends built on the weekend.
Oh, love this shot! You must hike to places where not many people go. It is on my list to do next time (year) when I see snow. It is not an easy activity, your are in a great shape ( I hiked up the ski mountain and was pooped)
Fit as a fiddle and on top of the world! Sounds as if you and your daughter had an amazing day. So wonderful that your daughter shares the same interest, I love that about my daughter too.
Looks like you had a great day for it. I think there must be a knack for moving about on snow. I tried snow shoes in Antarctica and still managed to sink thigh deep so I don't fancy my chances of getting through a hike :))
