Duck, no not the feathered type, just DUCK. by ladymagpie

Duck, no not the feathered type, just DUCK.

I have given you old buildings in the past but today a more modern structure found whilst on one of my geocaching walks. Now I'm classed as being vertically challenged being only 5ft 3in tall, but I had to DUCK to walk through this tunnel.

It went under the M5 motorway where there are 6 lanes of fast, noisy traffic. It was very loud and spooky. Not an interesting structure but a strange path to take in the countryside.

Best viewed with the magnify button above the pic.
Very cool capture, but I'm not sure I could have walked through it!

@linnypinny Thanks Lin, I hovered for a bit but had just walked across a very high footpath bridge across a river that only had one handrail on it. What was the best of two evils.

Is this the footpath or is it normally used by animals? Looks like it could get quite wet down there.

@virtualbrownie Thanks for looking, no this was just for the walkers that need to go along a public footpath that had been dissected for the motorway. there was fencing around both ends to stop animals in the fields.

interesting subject

Under 6 lanes? You would not get me down there, I am only 5' 3" too and could get quite nearvous under there i think.
Do like the shot though

@philcameron59 Thank you Phil, I should have known better than to give you a punchline. The other day in a comment that my football club Forest Green Rovers had reduced the new Manager appointment to a short list, I did ask if it meant that only applicants under 5ft 4ins can apply.

@claireuk Thank s Claire, it was an interest walk, and I had to come back through later on.

Love the feeling of wondering what is the other side of the tunnel. Fav

@thresheg Thanks Graham, appreciate your FAV. On the other side was a stile into small wood and open fields.

Great capture Heather. I'm 5'2, but think I'd still duck and run. When I first looked at it, I thought of snakes down there. Then I viewed it large and could see that it was pretty well lit.

Good job it was there. At 5' 3" I'd worry you'd make it across 6 lanes quickly. LOL

so much a better route than the six lanes and a great pic!
November 13th, 2013
@zenna Oh thanks Gayanne, I hadn't thought about snakes although they are not dangerous in the UK.

@kathiecb @brillomick Thank you both for your comments, definitely wouldn't have made all 6 lanes.

Fascinating tunnel and very nice perspective with the light.

@congaree Thanks John, appreciate your comments.

Weight in "stones" and height in "lanes", just makes you wonder.

@byrdlip Thanks for the comments.
