This is the spire of St. Nicholas church in a very small hamlet of Standish in Gloucestershire. It was originally built and belonged to the Abbott of Gloucester in the 13th century, around 1265 and was restored in 1867.

The whole hamlet consist of a few farm cottages, the vicars house, the church, Standish Court and the Court Farm. Lots of places to explore even if again I can't read the private signs. More interesting captures in the camera.
Love the composition - all the tree branches (as you may have noticed, I simply adore trees!) and the lovely light on the rock wall - great capture!

Glorious capture, Heather. Only in winter could you get such a composition. The huge bare trees lend depth and Nature's grandeur to the scene.
