I want to tell you a story from when I was young - my Grandmother used to come up from her home in Devon for a two weeks holiday with us, this was an annual event. My Mother used to prepare by putting all the best china away in a locked cupboard and bring out all the old stuff with chips or damage on them.
The reason for this was because my Gran was so clumsy in her old age and although she always tried to help. many items were dropped, damaged and smashed.
Unfortunately I seem to have reach that age, and last night I had just finished a cup of coffee, and without looking behind me, put the empty cup on the kitchen worktop. I had completely missed the worktop, it bounced on the sofa arm and smashed on the tiled lounge floor.
There is one good thing that comes out of this story, I won't have to wash it up now. I did sweep it into this little area when the idea of a photograph came into my head. I could give you a few more stories about how clumsy I've become - Oh god I've turned into my Grandmother. View with the dark background.
Too bad it''s such a pretty cup so far I have not reached the clumsy stage but the bad memory stage is the pits. The good thing is you got a wonder shot from it all. Love the story, capture and processing. Definately a fav! Definately or forms of it seems to be my word of the week.
This is a very sharp shot, sorry for the pun! I was telling of my grand daughter this morning and realised I sounded just like my Mum. We all age in one way or another
Great photo, great title and great story :) My life is a bit like your cup at the moment! btw - hope you noticed our Aussie girls can play cricket MUCH better than the boys :)
Great story, great loss. From the look of the bottom piece, the cup was well aged, although it looks like a crack had developed and wouldn't be long for holding more coffee.
