When I arrived at the park to go and photograph the old hospital buildings, a very large squirrel ran right in front of my car and I had to jam my breaks on. Unfortunately I didn't see it come out from either side and thought I had killed or injured it.
The first thing that came into my mind was, would I have to preform CPR and what pressure would I have to put on it's little chest. The next thought was don't worry you're at a hospital, but then realised that nobody would be here to help me.
I gingerly got out of the car and looked underneath for the squashed squirrel. It was nowhere to be seen, I even looked under the wheel arches. Then I noticed this massive fur tree right next to me, the biggest I've seen for years, so I started to search among the branches.
Can you see it, is there a flash of red blood from the injured squirrel, well perhaps not and it was all in my imagination again. Honest, there was a big squirrel but it's time was obviously not up yet. So if a cat has 9 lives how many does a squirrel have.
Thank you for your response yesterday, I put the photograph on my Facebook page and it had 6000 views in 12 hours and hundreds of comments.
magnificent pov of this proud tree. We do feel terrible when we injure or think we injured innocent animals. I once spotted my finches in their water bowl in their cage, and thought they were drowning, so jumped up and was wondering about cpr and how to administer it to a little tiny bird. As I reached the cage, I noticed they were actually bathing! What a fool I felt
I hope it was not stuck up under the car's structure! I think you might smell something. Probably so quick you wouldn't have had time to see it! Thats what we will believe anyway!
LOVE this tree! And the story is great - I'm sure the squirrel is fine - probably was wondering what you were looking for when you got out of the car! Fav for me.
@snaggy
Love the shot, reminds me of Medusa.
