In an effort to get back to good health and of course to lose a bit of weight, I'm having a soup day each week. In other words a tin of soup will be my main meal of that day.
There is one soup that I really like and that is Baxter's Cream of Chicken but not their other flavours. I was looking to stock up and did a search on the internet for all the main supermarkets in our area, this is what I found:
Sainsburys - £1.10 per tin
Waitrose - £1.10 per tin (other flavours cheaper)
Tescos - £0.99 per tin
Asda - £0.75 per tin
Morrisons - £0.50 per tin (Special offer)
That was for identical size and weight. I therefore jumped into my car and set off to my nearest Morrisons and the deal was made.
Well done with your bargain Lady M. If you ever get bored with Baxter's chicken soup try a few different ones from Aldi. My very favourite soups come from there.
@peterday@susiemc I'm with you, homemade soup is divine and a joy to eat. Good old morrishops as morrisons was called by eldest when he was tiny and now its stuck!
Have to agree with others above - the best soup is homemade soup - you know what's in it! Definitely less calories, therefore you'll lose more weight :) Hint - I make one big batch and then freeze it in serving sizes in zip-lock bags -the best advice I was given by a friend :)
I buy tinned grapefruit & whereas Booths is £1.30 Morrisons is 60p so good old Morrisons! I don't normally shop around but that's a big drop in price, same with your soup.
