Through the Narrows. by ladymagpie

Through the Narrows.

It's funny to think that when I was a child this was a used lane with cars going up it. It's a lovely spot in my local town with some interesting shops and a pub.

The first shop on the left is a health food shop, yes I have been in but only for fresh bread rolls. Next to that is an old pub, which originally was called The Lamb Inn but has been changed to The Retreat as a modern eating and drinking pub. I once had a cottage pie there but it was still frozen in the middle, needless to say I wasn't very pleased with them.

Look at the white building in the distance which is on the High Street, also pedestrianised. The window on the first floor used to be the waiting room for my dentist when I was a very small child. I used to be petrified, but my Mother always bought me a box of chocolates after I had treatment, that was good for my teeth wasn't it.

I do love the older buildings as they have more character. View with the dark surround if possible.
Full of character

@ladymagpie We live in St Austell........but so many of our lovely villages and small towns still have a 2-way system in roads not much wider than this........makes for fun in the summer !
