This gate, with huge gate posts, were obviously the entrance to a very grand house at one time and I'm sure in the distance past I can remember a drive going up from here. It just looks odd to see these wooden steps inside and I wonder where they go.
Looking up some clues on a map, I see the fields behind are called Grange Fields and a small new set of houses is named Grange Close. I think that gives the game away.
