Well my heart investigations continues with a visit to Gloucester Hospital yesterday (picture taken in one of the endless corridors) for an electrocardiogram. This is where they send waves down into your heart and take video's and sounds of your heart working, very similar to taken pictures of your baby when pregnant. At the end I did ask if my heart was pregnant which put a smile on the ladies face.
So far I've had the hamster wheel test, (Gloucester Hospital called it a treadmill), followed by a CT scan also at Gloucester. I don't think they found the answers they were looking for so I was given my next appointment at Cheltenham Hospital for a Cardiology Angioplasty. This is where they travel from your wrist or groin and up into your heart for pictures of the arteries, I tried smiling for the pictures but that didn't seem to help with the results.
I think they have had enough of me in Gloucestershire as they have now referred me to Oxford and John Radcliffe Hospital to talk to a consultant regarding heart surgery, that's next month and 53 miles for a chat, can't I do that on the phone.
I'm hoping to finally "See the Light at the End of the Tunnel", but it might well be after some lengthy surgery as well.
Fun and games. Been to hospital today for a pre-op gave my nurse a giggle too. Wishing you all the best. Our NHS is a blessing. I'll have gone from seeing my gp to surgery for cancer in less than 7 weeks.
@pixiemac I've been diagnosed with breast cancer (a shock at 37), mastectomy on 4th sept.... further treatment to be planned after surgery when all histology/pathology results back. A certain demon has raised it's head slightly....trying to keep it quiet. Looks like your on/beem on an amazing adventure
@newbank@carolmw@pixiemac@philcameron59@newbank Thank you for all your comments everyone, and I'll be thinking of you to @newbank , Phil, yes polished it all by myself, had to wait until the nurses moved out of the way though.
@newbank Hun, I am so so sorry to hear that news. Please keep that demon quiet you have a big enough battle you need to be strong. Back from Kenya Saturday and developed terrible tummy issues, so a lot of recent hard work has been lost....but I am going to win, I have to. xx Will be thinking of you, let me know how things go
@pixiemac Had a very bad few weeks with it, seems to be back to being okay again this week thankfully... Think it was the shock and taking it all in. Keep going you!
All the best Heather. if it's any help i've had all those tests too. so i know what you're going through.Fingers crossed that like me it's all ok.
Good picture of a very clean hospital corridor.!
That's very speedy - all good wishes for your treatment.
