Well it's not Christmas, but you've all heard the song that's includes the line, "And a partridge in a pear tree". Well my song today should start, "On the First Day of Spring, my true love gave to me, A pigeon in a Blossomed Tree".
In fact there are two pigeons cooing and wooing but one is hiding from view. These trees are right opposite to my drive and I see them every time I return home from my walks or in my car,
They always look pretty and are part of a little green with a couple of bungalows behind the wall for the elderly.
I suppose I better start thinking of other verses for my Spring song, can you come up with anything.
So here goes with verse two:
"On the second day of Spring my true love sent to me.
Two purple bugs and a pigeon in a blossomed tree".
Beautifully framed, a lovely tree to see on your way in and out.
Have no fear, there are 4 pilots onboard and I only take pics on my breaks so there is always someone at the controls, even if I’m looking out the window :)
On the third day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Three Christmas cactus, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.
On the fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to me
A trip to flawless hair studio, three Christmas cactus
Two purple bugs and a partridge in a pear tree
Hmmm I better stop not very good, sorry. I did say I couldn’t sing.
@yoland Might reach No.1 in the charts in Estonia.
By the way aviation is in all my family past, my Father was one of only 6 survivors in a famous air crash in 1930. 46 died, leave you to see if you could work it out, where and what.
1930
October 5 – On its maiden voyage from the United Kingdom to British India, the British civil airship R101 crashes and burns in Allonne, Oise, France, while flying at low altitude at night in a rainstorm, killing 48 out of 54 on board, the worst civil airship disaster in history.
Wow, if this is it that must of been a scary night for your father. Did he tell you many stories about it?
@yoland Yes I have a few stories and remember this was 17 years before I became a twinkle in his eye. He stayed with the air ministry all his life as Technical Engineering Manager and we moved from Air field to airfield, I had some great flights. He lived until he was 91.
Thanks for the family story, I’d love to see his pic. Sounds like you had an adventurous childhood.
