Burragorang Valley by leggzy

Burragorang Valley

Taken from the Burragorang Lookout out over the Burragorang Valley.

We took a quick trip down to my MIL’s place over the weekend. She lives in the outer Sydney area, so on Saturday we spent the day out in the Burragorang Valley…..such a beautiful spot.

This is my hubby & his mum, with Lake Burragorang in the background….which is part of Sydney’s Warragamba Dam. There used to be a little village/town called Burragorang down in the valley, and also some farm land. The Wollondilly River used to flow through the valley, but with the construction of Warragamba Dam, it was all flooded & it disappeared to become the town that was no more........

My dad used to work out in the Burragorang Valley many years ago when all the coal mines were operational out there, so it was nice to visit there & ponder what it would have been like for him.
That's a stunning backdrop. And I think the names of these places are just wonderful.
