A few years ago a few local worthies (not including me) planted trees along the two burns that run in through Hoswick. In many parts they are looking good now and attracting a number of breeding birds. If I ever need to cut back my willows, especially the Icelandic Willow, I put some into the fields near the burns so hopefully they will root. Time will tell.
Great to see stream planting is attracting the wildlife. We have been planting native trees around our stream and hopefully will notice a difference in bird life over the next year or two.
