The bearded lady by louannwarren

The bearded lady

This yellow Bearded Iris greeted us at breakfast this morning at a local bistro. One more petal should unfurl in the next day or two and the flower will be complete. They grow so well all over Texas and will spread to fill a flower bed in just a few years if you don't dig them up or thin them as time goes by. They come in many colors and I just read there are close to 300 varieties of irises, oh my!
Beautiful.

Excellent capture of this gorgeous iris, Lou Ann! I think I should plant some of these in my yard if they spread so well. :-)

One of my favorite flowers and oh! the fragrance!!! I'm waiting for some to bloom in my garden, and just this evening, a friend who visited said she needs to thin hers and will bring me more! Color me happy!
