When was the last time you saw a Chasmosaurus on the plains of West Texas?
Driving east, leaving West Texas yesterday, we saw this sculpture in the middle of basically nowhere. Across the Playa (little lake) from him is an ape on all fours. So you do a double take and turn around to take a couple of photos! The Chasmosaurus roamed Canada 75 million years ago. He was two car lengths long, weighed two tons and he was a herbivore. The Dinosaur Provincial Park of Alberta, Canada, has skeletons of these dinosaurs collected at the park. Would love to see this park!
So the majority of Canada Geese seem to have moved south of their border and we have their Chasmosaurus as well?! No photographer of worth would have driven past with without getting a photo! And thank you for putting it in size context!
@Weezilou this cotton farmer has a huge sense of humor. The ape had been there for years, he's all lop-sided now, but the Chasmosaurus is new, just priceless, I know he sits in his house and laughs at the people who turn around and come back to take photos. So, these Chasmosaurus are vegetarians and weigh two tons! Lol.
@louannwarren I hadn't thought of the pleasure he would get out of it from his side of the Cham'rus! (In Canada, our house is in the historic district, so people often stop to photograph it or even come up the steps to have their picture taken. You know I love to watch them and wonder how they're feeling about being in that unique little town!)
@henrir the gorilla and this fellow are on 82/114 between Ralls and Crosbyton, on the south side of the road. I was driving, that's why I got to stop. Laugh out loud!
