The flag flies and the Crepe Myrtles bloom, even when it’s 110 degrees Fahrenheit

The Crepe Myrtles are about the only flowering plants that have held their blooms through this crazy heat wave. The sun even seems to burn the color out of the sky.
Lovely! Yes, I find that hot days are hazy and the sky isn't nearly as blue.

that is hot! and not healthy for you. a friend and her family just came back from las vegas and they were saying it was ridiculously hot in there, that despite the 29 temps we had when they arrived back, they were all wearing sweaters! but glad the flowers are holding up. hope you're ok. just keep on sipping water. aces on the shot, lou ann.

Nicely composed, a lovely shot

Love your flag flying high still, flag & flowers not flagging in your heat! Strange I was brought up with Fahrenheit temperatures & took a while to get used to Centigrade then I see you in the USA use F. ...have to try & revert back!!
July 22nd, 2018
Lovely composition.

@carolmw @happypat @carole_sandford thank you so much for your comments, ladies! I appreciate each one of them! @happypat I always wonder if I should put Centigrade in parenthesis when I put a temperature on 365!

Such beautiful flowers

I'm surprised you are outside in this sort of heat! It must have been a dash out and then a dash back in!
July 23rd, 2018
@maggiemae I go out early to water my flower pots, but that’s about it! @bigmxx thank you!
July 23rd, 2018
And here I thought our 90 degree days were hot! Glad your staying wise about being out in that. And how nice to see the flag proudly flying in spite of it.
July 23rd, 2018
And I don't see any end real soon, do you? If it's not found by 8 am I doubt I'm going to find it lately. Don't even hear many birds singing early. Grass is starting to turn brown for the first summer in many years. But you're right about the crepe myrtles!

@milaniet We should have a break Tue or Wed. Then back to maybe 102 or 103 for a few more days. We are sure looking forward to our electric bill. 😊 @olivetreeann We love our flag!

Crepe Myrtle seems quite hardy....I agree the extreme heat makes the sky quite hazy & pale. Hope you have relief soon.
July 23rd, 2018
Lovely summery shot, take care in that heat
