George Segal’s “Depression Bread Line”

Just as you enter the 20th Century Gallery at the Crystal, this installation greets you. It is a nod to the Great Depression America experienced in the 1930’s. Mother was a young girl during that time, she spoke of the depression though and tried to impress on everyone to not take anything for granted. This piece was quite thought provoking for me. There are five figures standing in the line but I preferred this angle.
I like you POV on this. It is so realistic. As you say, very thought provoking.

This is the kind of art that young people can relate to. I hope school groups are able to go through this museum. Great shot, Lou Ann!
