The town of Waurika, Oklahoma, is working hard to raise money to put a roof over the Farmers Market space in downtown. It’s sandwiched between two buildings and open to the elements, the roof will make it a summer or winter affair. I actually liked it just like it was, but the townsfolk I know there were just against the “open air look”. 😊
Lots of wonderful tones and textures Lou Ann you just can't please everyone, I think it would benefit from a roof possibly clear glass to maintain the light and airy appearance:)
@radiogirl@henrir@mittens@Weezilou@kwind@ludwigsdiana@pcoulson Thank you all! Right now they just put up those awnings on 4 legs which work just fine. Each vendor that wants to can cover their stand that way. This little Oklahoma town is trying so hard to revitalize it’s downtown area. There are too many places to spend money so I think the last thing that will happen is a roof over the empty space.
open air is well and good. but maybe a light coloured roofing material that would not require any artificial lighting during good weather and use minimal lighting when weather is bad. never mind me, i'm just an old person blabbing.
Maybe they'll make the roof see-through to have the best of both worlds. Our market moves indoors until Christmas, then closes up for the winter months and reopens outdoors in the Spring. Good shot!
