My mother was not a seamstress, she was a secretary, so when she decided to make me a Christmas stocking it was a real big deal. I’m going to post photos of the stocking this week, I’ve hung it on every mantle I’ve had, as an adult. It is a family treasure to me. I remember fretting because she only put my first name instead of my”whole” name!
Our mom's shared something in common -- mine was also a secretary (school) and also made me my Christmas tree skirt and some beaded ornaments that I hang on the tree each year. What a delight they are - we're lucky women!
i would've loved to have kept anything that my mother made for me. this is so lovely, law, and i'm so glad you've made it a family heirloom. it sure is priceless! aces on the close up shot.
@milaniet Yes, mother was an accomplished business woman, more than a home body type. She started on the stockings (mine and my sister’s) in the summer when I turned 5, so 70 years ago, oh my!
