Granddaughter Haley’s wedding shower was Sunday. Her colors are pink and white with gold; she’s getting married in Hawaii in 10 days. Her sweet hostesses chose pineapples as the shower’s theme, so they painted pineapples pink and used pineapple accents on the decorations. It was a fun sweet wedding shower!
pink pineapples! hmmm...that gives me an idea for future posts! :-) were you able to eat the pineapples later? i hope they didn't use actual paint! the photos show how much fun the affair was. and law, i so envy your hair. i wish my dark would just all turn to white. i like the collage, but i love your hair. aces!
@ludwigsdiana Alas, Haley and her fiancé are the only two going to Hawaii. They will get married and honeymoon in Maui. She chose to use the big wedding money from her father on building a new home. She and her fiancé are smart and quite careful with their money!
@summerfield Hi Vikki! They used water based paint and afterwards Haley and each hostess took a pineapple home to eat. You are so sweet to comment on my hair, I started turning grey when I was 24. I just chose to never color it because I knew that as fast as my hair grows I would live in the hair salon, getting my roots touched up. Ha! My grey hair honestly is a side effect of my thyroid condition “Hashimoto’s disease”.
@louannwarren - i've coloured my hair when the whites started to show, partially out of vanity and at the behest of my ex-partner. so when we parted ways, my first order of the day was to grow my hair, had it highlighted and let it grow to its natural colour. i've always gotten kudos for it but i've been thinking of having it done in platinum. i'm having second thoughts though as i don't want to be slave to my hair again. and whenever i see your photos i'm having platinum hair envy! you look gorgeous with it!
@louannwarren - i was just looking at you and your granddaughter and she shares so much of your beautiful features. she's guaranteed to be as gorgeous as you when she grows to be your age.
Such an exciting time for Haley & her fiancé......wedding showers are such fun although I have never been to one! They weren5 even heard of in my day & ive not had any gradpndaughter getting married yet. More important when you’re not going to be able to go to the actual wedding....they sound a very sensible couple!
Looks like a good time was had by all and what a sensible girl not to spend a fortune on a wedding too. These days I fear that so much is spent on the wedding that it takes years to recover from the expense.
There were 12 people at our wedding and David and I were two of them. We chose to have a low key wedding and 50 years later we are still together. To us it was the marriage that was more important, not the wedding.
There is a lovely family resemblance between the two of you! The decorations are so cute- glad everyone had a good time and wishing your granddaughter a wonderful wedding!
@ziggy77@sugarmuser@mave@maggiemae@happypat@pcoulson@onewing@bigmxx@grammyn@gilbertwood@olivetreeann@danette@ludwigsdiana@nicolecampbell Your comments are so wonderful, thank you! Actually I am Haley’s step grandmother, I married her grandfather when she was 6 years old, 18 years ago. She’s a smart, sensible girl and has always been dear to me. Just she and her fiancé are going to to Maui, it’s not a “destination wedding” as they call the ones where everyone flies somewhere and there’s days of events. She’s just too sensible and conservative to expect her family and friends to do that.
@onewing I saw a television interview of Jamie Lee Curtis the other day. She and her husband have been married for I think 35 years, which is amazing since she’s a movie star and I think he has something to do with that industry too. When they asked her how her marriage had survived Hollywood, she said “we just simply did not get a divorce, when bad things happened, we just worked it out”. Such good advice for young people today.
@summerfield your hair is beautiful as it is, I wouldn’t change it! Thank you for your lovely compliments about my hair!
What a sweet wedding shower! Just darling. I bet everyone had a grand time. How exciting to fly off to Hawaii for a destination wedding. Are you going to attend, LouAnn? I hope so! :)
@gardenfolk Haley and her beau are going alone to Hawaii. They are using the wedding money her father gave her to pay down on and build their first home. @annied@gardenfolk@lynnz@carole_sandford Thank you for your wonderful comments, it was a sweet event and I’m glad you liked my collage.
