The airport control tower with historical designation

This is the airport control tower from the closed Mueller Airport in Austin. It is the centerpiece of the mixed use 700+ acre Mueller development that has been built on the airport’s grounds. To protect it the people who live in the development’s homes, condos, townhomes and apartments came together to petition the State of Texas Historical Commission to preserve the tower. With that designation it will be protected for future generations to enjoy. It’s future use is still under discussion. For my blue rainbow photo today.
