Over the years my Hydrangeas have had many blooms and just a few blooms, this year one plant had just this one bloom. The other one doesn't have any flowers. I normally don’t fertilize them but I guess next year I will have to fertilize like crazy In hopes that they will have some flowers.
Beautiful colour Lou Ann
A bit of fertiliser might be a good idea....if they have been in the same spot for a long time they will have used up the nutrients they need
What a beautiful colour and a lovely composition ! One of my old ones has been rather temperamental - flowering on alternative years ! -- but that may be due to my rather hard pruning on occasions !! ha !!
@annied@ludwigsdiana@beryl Thank you. I am a rather haphazard gardener. I do better with plants in pots. I’m sure you are correct Annie, they’ve been in their locations 17 snd 18 years. Something I hadn’t even considered. 😊
@annied I’m laughing because today I’m buying a kiddie pool to put some pots in while we are on vacation. My DIL waters for me and she will be on vacation too. I have terra cotta wine bottle watering vessels in my biggest pots and water bottle terra cotta spouts in my smaller pots. So, I guess you are right, pots can be a hassle. 😊
really like your composition here, and the background cloth? tabletop? i do hope your hydrangeas will be inclined to reward you with more blooms in the future :)
@pistache thank you. The vase is on a place mat, which I laid on my dining room table cloth. Two very different blues but the photo lightening helped. 😊
I don’t live in a great area for them, but they remind me of my nannas who both had them in their yards, so I put one in hoping for the best. Lovely colour.
