This 1845 one room log cabin was built along a creek close to Grapevine, by a man from Missouri. It was owned by two different families over the years and stood deserted during the mid 1900’s. It was saved from demolition by the Grapevine Historical Society, dismantled, moved and rebuilt on Grapevine’s Main Street, where it stands today. It is a museum depicting life in the 1800’s and decorated for the seasons. It’s all dressed inside and out for Christmas now. This for the November Word “architecture “.
How wonderful that a piece of social history is saved and opened to the public to see and understand the past - Love the Christmas trees all decorated and I would love to see the interior ! fav
Nice shot- it's always great when a historical structure like this can be saved, preserved and then used to teach us about what life was like when it was new.
Neat old building. So glad someone had the foresight to preserve it and put it to good use. We were so excited this fall on our Colorado trip to find an old cabin put together with round pegs
