Northern New Mexico

The New Mexico landscape is rugged, scrub cedar trees and shrubs dominate the roadside. Those are the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. We drove from Lubbock, in West Texas, to Santa Fe, New Mexico yesterday.

New Mexico is not a densely populated state. The roads in the northern part of the state are wonderfully uncrowded! Katy, it’s 340 miles from Lubbock to Santa Fe, so not far at all.
