The American Indians have treasured corn through the ages. They hold corn ceremonies every year thanking their “corn god” for a good harvest. To this day corn tortillas are a staple of their diet. This sculpture was on the grounds of the New Mexico Museum of Art in Santa Fe.
Lovely shot of this beautiful sculpture. I love corn, especially corn tortillas and could not get my fill when we were in Mexico years ago. I even bought a tortilla press and made them as we could not buy them, neither in Germany nor Japan.
Sante Fe is so artistic- I remember walking around with a friend and admiring all the art pieces in people's yards. We didn't have a lot of time so I didn't get to the museum but your pictures are bringing back some good memories of its beauty. Nice shot!
