Lubbock broke a 1961 snowfall record

The last time it snowed over 3” in Lubbock on January 24 I was a senior in high school. Several classmates emailed that they remembered that day 62 years ago because school was let out. I don’t remember it at all, ha! This year the 7” snowfall made the front page of the Lubbock paper. My 90 year old BIL sent me this photo from his front door. My 85 year old sister walked out in the snow to get the paper. I so wish their paper boy would throw their paper closer to the front door!
How did I not even hear about this?! what an unbelievable weather situation for Texas! What an unbelievable photo opportunity for you. I love how it makes the trees look so pretty. An amazing shot that even shows the falling snow.

@grammyn I’m so proud of Oscar. He took the photo and texted it to me. At 90 years young!

Wow how amazing. I don't associate Texas with snow at all. Must have been quite a surprise.
