My book club’s presentation for May was this delightful book on growing up in the south. In America we define “the South” as the states in the southeast area of the country. Since Texas is in the middle and so large, those of us on the eastern side of the state consider ourselves southerners, the west side of the state consider themselves to be from the Southwest part of the country. The presenter did a great job of reviewing this priceless book about growing up in the south. The author is from Georgia, you can’t get more southern than that, ha! The book is a collection of short stories, stories about a Porsche on the front porch, a bride receiving a lifetime subscription to an iconic southern magazine, “Southern Living”, and so much more. We laughed and laughed as the stories unfolded.
@taffy the presentation was done by a local book reviewer who was definitely southern! She intertwined some of her own personal stories into the presentation, we all laughed and laughed.
