Rainspider nest by ludwigsdiana

Rainspider nest

I was clearing away some of the dead Jasmin branches, when I came across this ball of fluff! After much inquiry, it turned out to be a dead nest. one can notice the old leaves inside. I suppose they were to feed the babies.
That's pretty unusual - and interesting.

I just looked up Rain Spiders. I am glad that they don't live around here according to Wikipedia, they are also called, Lizard Eating Spiders and their bite is equivalent to a bee sting. No thanks!

Oh my. That is very interesting. I have never seen a nest like this and would never have suspected that it was any type of spider nest.
