At the top end of town

is the Dutch Reformed Moederkerk, (mother church). It is an impressive building with a Neo Gothic tower which was completed in 1863. The mahogany cabinet as well as the pipes of the organ are still the originals, although the organ was replaced in 1953.

@grammyn I try to avoid taking photos where people are Katy. Stellenbosch being more of a tourist town is suffering due to covid. Not many people are flying here for the pas 18 months, which is very sad as the tourist industry has almost collapsed. It is a university town and normally full of students, but on the other side of town where the bars and restaurants are ;-)
