The reason it is so cold at night

is because there is a dusting of snow on the Hottentots Holland mountains. The elevation is 1,590 meters (5,220 ft). This is the scene as I leave our estate. The Helderberg on the right, Stellenboschberg on the left and Jonkershoek mountains in the background. bob

@joansmor @happysnaps @terryliv @merrelyn Thanks for the interest in the mayhem going on here atm, and that all because a criminal has been sent to jail! We are about 1,600kms (995 miles) away from the chaos and looting. The Western Cape has been taking precautions to prevent the same happening here. Malls in volatile areas have been closed as a precaution. Touch wood, so far there has been no violence here.

Glad to hear you are safe and sound- I wish some of the cities in our nation had taken better care when all the riots started by the Marxists had happened here. It was so sad what they did to many small business owners and more. Anyway- a stunning landscape here and thankfully it will stay that way!
