This is such a sweet capture! I am curious as to how they remove their horns...I assume they have to tranquilize them, but can they do it right there or do they have to transport them somewhere else for the procedure?
@bluemoon I don't think they transport them anywhere Paula. They get sedated, blindfolded and put earplugs in the ears. The horn gets removed with a chainsaw but only the top part without nerves. The base is then sanded down :-(
Stunning! It's a sad commentary that rhino's have to be disfigured to avoid being poached! Tell poachers to just go sit and bite their own fingernails for all the good it does!!! :(
