Thorns by ludwigsdiana

Thorns

of the fever tree a kind of Acacia in Africa.
It got it's name a very long time ago when travellers camped under these trees growing on riverbanks. There were always mosquitos around and the travellers got malaria. Since then it is called fever tree, the bark is green, so one can easily avoid it.
lovely foliage

Holy Moses! Those are some huge thorns. Does it need to be avoided because of the mosquitoes or because of the thorns? I really like the photo that shows such great detail and the lovely bokeh
