Baa Baa Black Sheep by maggiemae

Baa Baa Black Sheep

These sheep had plenty of wool. Its mid winter here and there were four sets of twins to these sheep. It's at a friends place just up the road who is a real entrepeneur! Makes cheese, honey, grows coffee, kiwifruit, tamarillos lemons and looks after sheep and hens! I came away after tasting her cheddar and some blue cheese!
Love this capture ...the babies are adorable. Wow .. she/he's very self-sufficient. Can't imagine all the work that's involved with doing and growing all of these things. Grows coffee ... so you must have a perfect climate for some of these, Maggiemae. What an interesting life!

Mmmmm sounds like a good friend to have!!! How cool! 4 sets of twins!!!
July 29th, 2012
NZ sheep always look so clean...as opposed to the sheep here in the midwest!!
July 29th, 2012
So cute. My mom grew up on a farm and always wanted to have a little lamb all her own. Never got one.
July 29th, 2012
Sheep are just so cute!

Fabulous capture. My husband's family many, many years ago were sheepherders, so I have a soft spot for sheep. This is such a lovely capture, maggiemae. Your friend sounds like such a hard worker. Wow!!!

Lovely shot with these babies. They are adorable. Uhm, that home made cheese must be so good, and I love honey.
July 29th, 2012
four sets of twins? ouch! but those lambs are so lovely!
July 29th, 2012

@yonnie Thanks for your input, Yvonne! She just smiles and gets on with it! I said someone needs to write an article about her!
July 29th, 2012
@maggiemae And I think you would be just the person to do it!!!!
July 29th, 2012
@yonnie Umm.. You are pushing me out of my comfort zone, Yvonne!
July 29th, 2012
@maggiemae From everything I've seen, you are a multi-talented woman and have probably had to step out of your comfort zone on numerous occasions and have done it beautifully.
July 29th, 2012
i imagine she probably spins her own wool in her spare time.
July 29th, 2012
All of that sounds delicious and the sheep look like they produce some pretty nice wool! I love sheep! (Even if they are some of the dumbest creatures on the face of the earth!)
July 29th, 2012
@chard No I haven't seen a spinning wheel - or a loom there! Never know, though!
July 29th, 2012
@olivetreeann I'd agree with you there, Ann but don't tell the farmers!

Jim
I wonder if my landlord would let me keep one in the house. He said no pets but this qualifies as a food source ;)
July 29th, 2012
the lambs look so cute, nice composition
July 29th, 2012
@yentlski Jim, they are inclined to eat anything .... like your duvets or tablecloth, not to mention those funny small and round black things they leave behind them!
July 29th, 2012
Oh! Love the little lambs! So sweet! Lovely capture, Maggiemae! How was the cheese! I love cheddar and blue!
July 29th, 2012
@marlboromaam The cheddar was tasty and creamy but the blue was a bit strong for me - I could still smell it on my fingers when I got home!
July 29th, 2012
@maggiemae Sounds great to me! Blue cheese is as stinky as I'll eat. You can have all the limburger! I can't get past the smell of that to even taste it. LOL!
July 29th, 2012
Yummy cheeses and the sheep are beautiful!
July 29th, 2012

July 29th, 2012
@ruthmouch The cheddar was in a cheese wax an cut in front of me! It was tasty and creamy! The blue needed a bit more experience but she will do it!

July 29th, 2012
