Near Cairo, 1929 by maggiemae

Near Cairo, 1929

This is a picture of my aunt on camel near the Sphinx in Cairo. My mother was a couple of camels behind!
I must explain to those who didn't start the journey with me: http://365project.org/maggiemae/365/2012-10-24 says it all........

Yesterday my writings discovered the two exploring Cambridge and going to all the Colleges. She talked about "the Back" and I didn't know what she meant till I investigated. I had to do a lot of googling to get the names right as her writing is a bit scrambly! She loved Ely Cathedral and also Grantchester where she wanted to see the connection with Rupert Brook. I have typed 10434 words! and am about 1/3rd of the way in!
Photos like this are priceless.

Family history is so fascinating and we have so many more resources now for investigating it. I can see you will have to make a trip to the UK to investigate some of these connections. Ely cathedral is quite my favourite, absolutely stunning.
