We stopped at a motel set in farmland and facing the mountain ranges. Fabulous scenes but it was raining as well as getting dark when I took this photo from the motel deck! I just noticed the layers and hoped to have enough light to see them. The distant mountains, were hardly visible. This place is really in the wop wops with no cell coverage and no internet of course! But all the comforts!
Three good things:
1. I watched two bulls having a play fight in the field in front. The roars sounded like huge lions!
2. The only dangerous animal around was me enjoying the scene with a glass of whisky!
3. It was totally quiet until two sheilas (that's what john calls them) arrived giggling! In the middle of nowhere!
You made me laugh with your wop wops, I love the differences between Aus and NZ - it's woop woop in Aussie, beautiful photo, I think NZ is one of the most beautiful countries in the world
You have captured the old world feeling of a painting in this amazing shot! Good for you to risk the light and rain for it! It turned out magnificently!
Love your painting! Nigel was once camping high in the mountains in the Lake District when a woman in high heels and a fur coat walked up the path past the tent and over the brow of the hill - it still spooks him out!
Lovely layers. It makes me think of one of those evenings when you're pleasantly tired and really enjoy the whole process of going to sleep, if that makes sense!
very atmospheric maggie...i hate to say this again , because i said it on your graveyard pic...but there is definitely a moody monochrome shot to be had here .
What a splendid shot Maggiemae ! Love the layers, it looks post processed but i think it's all natural isn't it ? Bravo !
