Last year a strong wind broke many of these flowers and so I have never seen them like this! I do love them they way they tower over the rest of the plants!
Three good things:
1. Just about got stumped for a photo today but doing the lawns helped make a decision.
2. Booked for a Victorian High Tea on Saturday - will have to dress up and hold my teacup in the right way! But the menu is absolutely fabulous e.g. Radish and cucumber sandwiches, Gravlax with Fennel-orange butter etc
3. John forced himself to agree to come too because in the sweets section there was 'English Scones with jam and cream"!
The darkess of the photo really does the trick in bring out the beauty of these flowers. The lupin here remind me of skyscrapers when they're fully lit.
Lovely depth of colour and focus Maggie, fabulous when viewed large...Fav, I checked out the Trending and was surprised to see Little Owl. Thanks for letting me no Maggie.
Stunning flower shot made so special by the black background...can't think it was dark when you took this so must be some cleverness gone on!!! A great tea menu...NZ must be into the afternoon tea as we are!
I feel like I am sneaking around your garden with this view! Very pretty lupin! Victorian high tea! Americans like me would be at a loss as to how to dress or act. Haha! We lost our tea- drinking gene years ago! Well, we drink it, but not so religiously!
A beautiful garden shot. Thinking about lupins always reminds me of the peppery-smelling wild yellow lupins which used to grow on the beach at Sizewell in my native county of Suffolk, England. Now the beach hosts a nuclear power station. Love scones with jam and cream!
I love lupins, and they are one of my dad's favourite flowers too. This a is a lovely flower capture with the dark background setting off the colours so well. Lovely azaleas too (is that what they are?) Enjoy your high tea!
