Flower swimming by maggiemae

Flower swimming

Flowers are very good at swimming - they will float too for ages! This is one of the nasturtiums seen in the upper left when I first put the flowers in a bowl of water. A week or so later I took this photo and noticed the seed growing.

Three good things:
1. The yellow nasturtium came first in the freestyle race.
2. The continual challenge of bokeh. Once you have mastered the challenge, it is no longer a challenge so that is good to have a task ahead!
3. I spy with my little eye, something beginning with A!
Very cool capture with the insert. Interesting story...

Wow, Maggiemae, this is so cool. I love all the details--especially when you view large, although I didn't see anything that started with an "A" ; (

The A puzzles me too. I sense that it is coming.

How fascinating, I love the way you tell the story with your pictures.

Ant? No, didn't see one in there. Art? Well, yes, maybe- it is an artistic shot after all with that little insert. But other than those two words, I'm stumped on the A thing too! Unless there's another word for seed that begins with A which is escaping me right now.

@yonnie @yaorenliu @windridge @olivetreeann I see you are not going to come up with the A - .....its 'anther' - the pollen bearing part of the stamen.
March 8th, 2014
Well that is pretty darn cool

March 8th, 2014
Anthers are those little pollen laden tips on the end of the stamen @lynnb . Thanks for your comment!

Lovely shot, Maggiemae! How clever to put it in a bowl. Does it work with all flowers or just certain ones? It's so cool how it grew the way it did. Excellent detail. Job well done :)
March 9th, 2014
Very cool shot. I'll try this...hehehe
March 10th, 2014
i was going to write anther but you already revealed it and i'm late as usual so...look at you with inserts and all on your photo! lovely nasturtium and seed!

This is so cool, Maggiemae. I will have to try this one and see what happens. No flowers around at this point so will have to remember to do so. Love your photo.
