Christchurch stop by maggiemae

Christchurch stop

After an emotionally fraught day, our travel continued to this city to see son and friend off to the USA.

This place is famous for Speights, a southern beer which has iconic advertisements very well made. The place was thronged with rugby supporters ready to cheer the All Blacks/ England game on. Too loud for us and no chairs encouraged us to go to the adjoining cabin where we had booked to spend the night before travelling back home. It was an intensely exciting game with England proving they were strong enough to win - they didn't quite win, though!

Three good things:
1. No more concern over diets which family have - gluten, dairy, egg, meat, etc!
2. We are so healthy and yet eat everything! Funny that!
3. 365 which has saved my sanity over the last few weeks!
Oh yes I know so well that diet issue. Funny how we survived eating everything put in front of us...or else! Your processing of this shot is beautiful. Time to relax now. Keep smiling.

Your number 2 good thing is so true! They were saying on the news the other day about bugs & how the kids today are far too mollycoddled regarding bugs....eat a bit if dirt! Farm kids are always really healthy...plenty of bugs there! I was thinking of this when I knocked my plate of the garden chair today, it broke & my dinner went in the floor...just wiped it & ate it!!
I ramble on....... England did pretty well at the rugby, we watched it....think you had a close do maggiemae! Our families are all going to the Hamilton game.
You will be longing to get home to your quiet house! A very nice walk way.

I like the image here, with the repeating lines and the classic timeless processing. Good going on the game!

@happypat I did laugh at what you did with your plate of food in the garden chair! I would have taken a good look around first though!

@deburahiru You are darn tooting right, Deb! Just home after another slightly less stressful trip and the fire is going and there is a malt in my glass!

Love the lines running back into the picture. We loved Christchurch. It was funny to walk down Kilmore st ( my mum worshipped in Kilmore curch) and Dromore st, the next village at home

@ceilidh Christchurch is still sad, Margaret - knobbly roads, empty sections, ruined buildings!

This shot is very inviting- it makes me want to book a room and stay a bit to see the sites. I like the sepia tone too- it makes it very warm. I'm glad things are settling down and life will be less stressful now. But I know you'll be missing family too. Nice to be home though and less mindful of all the special food needs.
