Down at the station

John singing this....but it wasn't 'early in the morning'! This is our train in the Madrid Station which is huge and like an airport. We rode this from Valencia and the speed varied from 301km to 256! So fast! No time for photographs.

Three good things:
1. Our hotel is boutique, small and historic - ghosts in the corridors!
2. A flamenco show that really was outstanding!
3. BBC even on the TV!
Great shot, interesting roof...

Nice shot. Love the futuristic architecture, and the movement of the human figure somehow gives life to the train although it was static at the time.

Wow, things have changed in Madrid station since I was there … back in the early 80s. Stunningly geometric composition. Classy work, Marg.

Incredible ceiling there......looks very modern & stylish. Just wondering if this was the train station that was bombed in 2004 killing all those people. Perhaps that's why it looks quite new & it was all rebuilt. Stunning lines & black & white shows it off very well. All sounds very efficient!

@happypat Here am I, humming "down at the station, early in the morning" and you have set the cat among the pigeons! This was the station that was bombed on research and not long ago - its amazing we don't see the findings. 'al quaeda' based but not proved! Fortunately we leave tomorrow for Lisbon from another station but I think your comments make this modern picture of the railways station real!
