I wanted to include the starkness of the area around this mountain top pub so processed it this way.
The Cat and Fiddle Inn is the second-highest inn or public house in England (the Tan Hill Inn being the highest). The inn is situated on the eastern fringes of Cheshire in the Peak District National Park on the A537 road just west of the Derbyshire/Cheshire county boundary, on the western side of Axe Edge Moor. It is at an elevation of 515 metres (1,689 ft) above sea level.
Three good things:
1.Too much food and very little exercise will end soon.
2. A sad goodbye to England but now on the road to home and pussycat.
3. All the usual friends whose names I see on my posts make such interesting comments. I would love to have the time and internet connection to reply to them all!
Ooh I know this well! Great capture and love your processing. Yes it really is bleak in winter and the road is often closed when it snows. Safe journey home! What an incredible trip you have been on. You need a rest after all that travelling!
You have edited this photo perfectly maggimae .......it looks lonely & bleak even in this summer photo. Glad you got about a bit yesterday, there are some lovely parts of the country round where you are staying.
Safe journey home ...I know you are stopping off in a few places so we might see some more places yet!! Home just in time for your glorious summer! X
@happypat thanks Pat - yes I realised there was a lot of England that one misses going on the motorways! I was so excited about this place as I had read a book about this lady crossing England by foot and she went here!
