What happened to summer?

Apparently there have been so much hail in places around NZ that they are expecting an El Nino summer - or is is a La Nina summer? The noise of this hail being shot out of the sky was incredible! Smash, smash!

Three good things:
1. I think my lettuces survived.
2. So many people sent wonderful messages to us after our last funeral.
3. No long car queueueues in Oamaru!

We have been hit by several hail storms this year, destroyed all new green shots, unable to start planting.

They look huge. A year or two ago a hailstorm like that damaged a lot of car roofs. My two cars got away without any damage.
