Trying out my new -ish camera's skills in long distance focus. This is NZ's capital city and very windy. You can see the runway there that pilots have to concentrate so skilfully to land!
Three good things:
1. No bumps around here which are usually expected.
2. Later near Dunedin there were lots of heavy bumps but we were able to calm a young man opposite who was praying half the time and holding on to the sides of the chair with white knuckles!
3. Good to be home in peace and quiet
One of the more exciting places to land. I love Wellington, and am headed there next week for a few days. Beaut shot, Marg. - it has the feel of flying.
what a great aerial shot...........poor chappy not enjoying the bumpy flight. One day we will get to Wellington, it is part of our retirement plan in about 10 years :)
Fave maggiemae...I have never seen Wellington before so really good to see this ariel view! I didn't realise the airport was so near the sea! White buckle stuff then!
Wonderful shot -your flight sounds exciting especially the young man who was frightened. Lucky chap to have you to calm him down. When I went to Wellington we sailed across from the South Island on the ferry. It was a very rough crossing so we sat up top which helped to avoid seasickness!! Very memorable!!
Awwww, its my city. I love Wellington!! I've seen many a crooked plane come in to land there, but luckily I haven't been on too many of them. I hope you had a lovely trip. Some might enjoy this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfS4X-xF_Y0
Fabulous shot, Maggie! Love that aerial view! So pretty. Fav. Glad that you are home safe. So sorry for such a late comment. I have been having a rough couple weeks between migraines and pain and am trying to catch up as best I can.
