The Red Tussock by maggiemae

The Red Tussock

This is a Red Tussock Nature Reserve in Southland, NZ and I stopped to catch the strong wind through these colourful tussocks. These deer were a bit nervous and pricked their ears up.

Three good things:
1. John's got new hearing aids which are hard to see and he's very pleased - tone and volume control.
2. A very slow internet here but it does eventually work.
3. The roar of motorbikes everywhere.
Wow this is awesome Maggie, fantastic clarity!! I'm finality back in the land of Internet and hope to get around to all the pics I've missed.

The tussocks look very soft & plumptious......now there's a word! It reminds me of a puffy mattress! I need to investigate hearing aids......went down the private route but they are so expensive & I really don't feel I need them all the time. Am going to try NHS ones first to see if it really helps. The biggest problem is in places like churches...yesterday's funeral partly passed me by & anywhere i am in a noisy place such as pubs. Glad John likes his.

Very lovely capture. At first glance I thought those two deer in the center looked like one with two heads. Ha, ha.

@happypat John's hearing aids are covered by ACC but would have cost around $11K, I think, Pat! He can now hear in noisy places. Love your plumptious word - reminds me of cushions!

@tonydebont It was obviously a deer farm, Tony, not wild which you would hardly ever see round here!
