Ah, Sunflower.... by maggiemae

Ah, Sunflower....

Who countest the steps of the sun;
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the traveller's journey is done;

Where the Youth pined away with desire,
And the pale virgin shrouded in snow,
Arise from their graves, and aspire
Where my Sunflower wishes to go!

William Blake :

Three good things:
1 There were acres and acres of these sunflowers!
2. Did 18.6km on Ruby to this field and way down to the sea and round back to home.
3. Watched a documentary on the siege in Sydney that happened on 15th Dec. Riveting!

February 11th, 2015
Fab sunflower, like a little sun gazing at us. Nice light behind those petals. What a great ride on Ruby, such a great way to get around.
February 11th, 2015
@busylady Yes it was more lemon colour than orange, Judith - why it became more like a 'sun' to me! Thank you for your fav!
February 11th, 2015
@beryl The sun was behind the flower so its face was in shadow but I did like the way the petals were lit up from the sun. Thanks Beryl!

Beautiful sunflower capture.....what a joy it must be to see acres and acres of them, all turned towards the sun! Someday I will photograph a field of sunflowers, or lavenders in the south of France! In the meantime, I am planning for the Ranunculus fields that are planted every year not too far from us. I missed it last year due to our construction mess, but it is definitely on my list of things to be photographed this year!
February 15th, 2015
Such a beautiful shot of this sunflower. Really brightens up my day. FAV
