On the way to a potential life changing experience ( called a new car) our drive down the road, ran alongside a beach for some miles. High winds overnight had whipped the waves up, being offshore and the light on the waves made me ask the driver to stop, please!
Three good things;
1. One of the most pleasurable things to me is to look at the 365 notifications and see one that is purely for me rather than one in a series of names with a thank you. I feel the sender has really wanted to reply to me.
2. This life changing experience is quite unbelievable - a car who can park itself - hands off the wheel!! And thats not all!
3 I’m glad I don’t like boxing! $500,000 for a front row seat!
A car that parks itself now that is an amazing thing which you & @judithg have in common I believe! It would freak me out so would love to hear how younare both managing once you get used to the car.
These beUtiful wild waves are typical NZ .......lovely beaches & hot weather when we come over but I am always nervous about the big waves beUtiful though they are!
@happypat This was a maelstrom of waves - people would drown in this scenario, Pat. I'm not going to drive this car until I've read the manual twice - might take a while!
Maggie, my son has a car that parks itself ........it is stunning to watch it do it, but sometimes Darren feels it is quicker to bay park it himself. The parallel parking is just awesome...........saves alloy wheel damage!! Have a great time learning.
Love the waves, so dramatic the noise must have been amazing
Wow what wonderful waves!! A great capture!! When I bought my new car I didn't go for the park itself version but I have for the first time a camera at the back of the car and beeping when i get near anything. It makes parking a joy!! Happy safe driving in your new car. you will soon get used to it. I got used to automatic very quickly and now would hate to go back to manual. Enjoy yourself!! Fav for your beautiful shot!
You mean you now own one of those cars that parks itself??? Those are soooo wonderful - I hate parking and to me that would be a dream! But on to your photo, which is beautiful, with great layers and lighting of each one.
@jennywren Thanks for the fav, Jen! This car is so safe - tells you if you wander over the centre line, warns you if there is a car on your blind spot, slows the car down if you approach a slower vehicle, dims its lights if an approaching car at night etc etc!
No wonder you asked the driver to pull over... the light on the waves and their movement is really compelling. Lovely layers in this shot, too. Enjoy your "self parking" car!
Wow, great capture of the waves. And the shot is very dramatic. Your neighbours will be glad about your new car - they don't have to worry that you would bump into their car while parking, haha. Congratulations.
love the ocean so really like this shot, makes me want to go for a very, very long ride so i can hear and smell some salt water. your capture is outstanding. have to tell you, i really like your '3 things". i look forward to coming to see what you have to say. very uplifting. what i like about the cars that drive themselves - not that i have one - is the commercials that show the people sticking all their arms out the sunroofs while the car is parking itself. that just makes me giggle. but lexus has just activated its technology where its car can actually drive down the highway alone, not just park. says it gets a bit confused by city signs and stop lights but by end of summer should be all straight. sounds like the jetsons.
@catsmeowb I've never seen ads for this parking stunt! So I found it hard to believe it was actually doing it all by itself, Camille! I think listening to the waves is as nice as seeing and smelling them!
@mortoncoe just played those credits, Peter - the wave curling was much bigger - normal in Haiwai ! They have started a new series now, I notice! Great!
I think we'd need a hurricane to get these waves here. My driver would have pulled over too. Sounds like an amazing new automobile . What color is Sadie?
This is one of the best 'wave' photos I've seen Maggiemae - I love the subtle hints of green in the crests - a Fav for me.
As for comments, I will seldom reply to a comment you have made on one of my postings unless you have asked me a question... what I will do is Ireturn the compliment and visit your project to comment which I feel is far more helpful than simply saying thank you.
@vignouse I have to say I do keep on trying to reply to all questions as well as good comments. And who doesn't appreciate a reciprocal comment! Thanks for your fav - I liked that green in the crests too!

Btw you shot is very nice ! Love the sea in all its "states" ...
Remember Jack Lord in Hawaii Five-O?
Opening credits were very similar
